From: Joyce Schaeffer <schaeffr@escape.ca> Date: Fri, 24 Dec 1999 13:51:38 -0600 Subject: Going To Israel [Moderator's Note: Although this is a little off topic, in the spirit of encouraging people to visit Israel, I have decided to let this through. -- Yr. Mod.] I may be embarking on a trip to Israel next year. I have a disability which hinders my walking speed. I fear going into the Holocaust museum in a guided setting may leave me panting and concentrating on keeping up with the group rather than participating. I want to see the Negev, The Dead Sea, Haifa. Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem, The Wailing Wall etc. I would use a wheelchair or buggy if available. As one visiting Israel for the first time. I would like recommendations. I can handle steps with a hand rail. I can get into and out of buses, trains and cars. I will be going with my husband. I do not own a wheelchair and use one transferring in airports. We would like to know where to go and what to see. My husband wants to see geographic areas. Joyce Schaeffer schaeffr@escape.ca
